Nestled in the enchanting historical city of Jingdezhen, celebrated for its rich cultural heritage and stunning landscapes, Jingdezhen Art Vocational University, with a storied 117-year history, now stands as a beacon of educational excellence. Embracing a recent refurbishment to open its doors to the world, I was privileged to be part of the team that helped reimagine and rebrand this institution for the modern age and international community. With unwavering support from China's Ministry of Education and the Jingdezhen Ceramic Culture Tourism Group, the university champions a mission of collaborative, non-profit education. Rooted in Jiangxi, it specializes in cultivating high-level professionals in applied arts and technology, with a pronounced focus on ceramics, smart manufacturing, and related domains. Its expansive, modern 1,400-acre campus serves as a fertile ground for the nurturing of knowledge, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit.
Inspired by the intricate artistry of Jingdezhen's renowned ceramic heritage, my branding design for Jingdezhen Art Vocational University encapsulates the institution's essence through a captivating and contemporary visual emblem. The design seamlessly weaves together history and modern aesthetics by featuring the distinctive bottom stamp of ceramic ware. This not only underscores the university's specialization but also pays homage to the profound cultural significance of Jingdezhen itself. The fusion of historical roots and modern design in the logo embodies the institution's dedication to preserving tradition while embracing innovation. It symbolizes the university's pivotal role as a guardian of knowledge, a catalyst for innovation, and a bridge spanning the past and the future. The logo stands as a visual testament to the university's unwavering commitment to excellence and its profound connection to the local community and the global world of academia.
