In Hong Kong, a multitude of niche stores strategically choose upper floors for their establishments due to lower rental costs. However, this prudent financial decision inadvertently shrouds these unique businesses in relative obscurity, as proprietors often refrain from self-promotion, resulting in limited visibility and awareness among potential customers.
To tackle this issue head-on, I collaborated with a dedicated group of design students, embarking on a mission to engineer an innovative solution. Our collective efforts gave rise to an expansive collection of meticulously crafted maps, brochures, and way-finding signs. These materials were meticulously designed to bridge the gap between these exceptional stores and inquisitive consumers, offering a clear path to discovery.
Our design odyssey was characterized by the painstaking integration of data and extensive consumer research, which consumed the lion's share of our endeavors. Our paramount goal was to harmonize our creations with the needs and preferences of users, ensuring that our design would serve as a potent medium, benefiting both store owners and their clientele. Guided by a dedication to user-centric design principles, we aspired to unleash the full potential of our endeavors, ultimately amplifying the visibility and accessibility of these hidden treasures within Hong Kong's vibrant retail tapestry.
